Good stuff. Just sift through the information available and you'll be good to go. As far as AV goes, you still have to do that in person but after that you don't really need to do anything anymore and can just play with your regular group. IMO AV is pretty useful but in no way affects your ability to play elsewhere. So if transport is an issue maybe see if you can get someone to AV you when they're passing through your part of the town or when you're in the area that they work/live in. But remember these people are volunteers after all and schedules may conflict (ie. it took me about 3 weeks of going back and forth to find a day that both I and the person who verified me was available to meet).
