DH ANPRC-148 Radio Gen 3

I would like to open this new thread since the my old one is way too long to read.

I have gen 2 and gen 3. Gen 2 is acceptable but still not good as a product. Gen 3 is much better and I can call it a product. I have these radioes in my closet for quite while and finally I have time to test them out and take some pictures.

The radio is generally seperated into two pieces, the top pieces ithe radio, the low piece is the rechargable battery and the battery is attached to the radio through a big silver screw at the bottom. So you can purchase another backup battery and switch.

Both the radio case and battery case is made of aluminum, cold and solid.

Buttons are real buttons and made of soft rubber. A bit soft but does the job.

Battery is attached to the radio by screw

Speaker on the back

Top panel, from left to right. First knob is the on/off/volumn switch, second one is the attenna base, third one is the knob for select features, frequence.
The forth is the millitary U-283 headset pannel.

There is a little switch behide the third knob. It is the switch for headset and speaker.

The applicable frequence is 400-470MHZ, the mininum frequence stepping is 0.025MHZ. Becuase the 0.025MHZ stepping, the radio doesn't work well with FRS frequence which requires 0.0125 stepping. The radio can receive FRS radio but FRS radio can't receive if you set the DH radio at near FRS frequence.

DH radio has no issue comminicating at GMRS frequence. CTCSS doesn't seem work with the Cobra radio I tested with though.
