On every single STAR/ARES I had the hop-up/inner barrel was a pain in the ass in term of leaks.

What you can do : find yourself some silicon seal at Canadian Tire (or alike) and put some to make the cylinder and cylinder head sealed, then change hop up, hop up rubber and inner barrel, you absolutely cannot change one and not the two others because they are specific to ARES, not in the main design but on the dimensions.
A factory ARES or STAR is supposed to shoot around 320/340 for M4 and G36K types.
