It's not unheard of that the main metal body will rotate in the plastic shell. With the pin through either setting (for leverage) you should be able to rotate the shell/body back into position. If the holes aren't lined up...you might get a half-dud release of BBs. Three of my grenades are like that. No big deal.
I'd contact AI directly...link them to this thread...and ask for a swap. Or go through your reseller. Sounds like you have a dud.
