Hi, I have the same gun, and oddly enough the mag that came with the gun doesn't like to catch the slide either, but a second mag I bought for it will do it every time. If you look on the mag itself the part that catches the slide moves up with the bb's and when empty catches the slide, but on my first mag it doesn't look the same as my second mag. So in my case it was the mag itself and not the actual gun. If you know anyone who owns the KP-05 or sells it see if you can try out their mag and you will be able to tell if its a mag issue or a gun issue.
