If all else fails you can go the slightly more expensive route (the one I took because I couldn't be bothered to source materials locally) and buy a kit from www.GhillieSuits.com which run about $50 but comes with a 5x9 section of netting and pre-dyed synthetic jute fibers. One kit was enough to build 1.5 ghillies with way too much material on them! The netting goes a long way. One 5x9 section of netting was enough to build two complete three-piece sniper ghillie suits (the entire back and arms of a large jacket, the entire back of large pants, and a full "head & shoulder" setup for both). If you want a stalker suit (upright stalk, complete ghillie coverage front/back), you'll probably use most of the netting but still have enough left over for your rifle.
