running a brushed motor in CLEAN water (aka no salt.. etc etc, some even swear by distilled) will not kill it.. and yes it will help with break in as it cleans the brushes and commutor as it wears in together. just give it a quick shot of alcohol or WD 40 when you pull it out of the water to stop the whole rust thing.

honestly brushed elec motor is important.. but for airsoft unless it's a SAW type weapon that your gonna be trigger into full auto for a few minutes at a time continous .. probably won't see a big difference from a dry short break in... to a RC racing style wet overnight break in. the motors in my RC racing/go fast boats are running wide open for 15-25 mins straight at a time.. the 'perfect' motor and break in is far more important
From what i have read a wet break in results in a more efficient motor that will not last as long, and i'm not into spending $100 on another motor. So maybe i will try the dry breakin you speak of. I will also contact the store i bought it from and see what they have to say. Thank you everyone for your help so far!
