I use an ACOG with irons on top of it. It's perfect, 3x-4x magnification is all you want anyways and it's not a waste if on ANY gun that can reach at least 100 + feet (most stock guns are able to do this). Also, 3x helps, more than anything, find and identify targets. I have never been on the giving end of a friendly fire incident as I've always been able to tell who I'm aiming at (even indoors, beyond 30 feet it's too hard to see the other guys camo without some sort of magnification). Other choice I use is the stock iron sights on my guns. they are always good and will never run out of batteries.
