Problem installing new hop-up bucking
Hey, I recently got a new hop-up bucking for my CA M15A4 (M4) after ripping my old one taking the gun apart (woops) but I'm having some problems with it. After putting the bucking over the barrel, correctly I think (notch lined up with the groove) I simple cant fit the main hop-up unit over the bucking.
Is there a chance the new bucking I got is simply to thick for my old hop up or am I simply going about this the wrong way? I've spent some time looking for guides dealing with this step of assembly but not no avail. I'll briefly explain what I'm doing in hopes someone can spot my mistake. I put the bucking onto the barrel making sure to align the notch and then attempt to slide the main hop-up chamber over top of that. Thanks for you help. Also I'm sorry if this should have been under the modification board but this feels like more of a beginners problem. Let me know if you figure I should take this problem elsewhere. |
Use silicone oil on the outside of the hopup rubber.
Lube always makes things smoother :D |

Keep in mind the sleeve should be snug in the hopup or it won't work as intended. Good luck. |

Right forgot to mention I am using a bit of oil, the thing is even if I try putting the bucking inside the hopup without a barrel I still cant get the bucking to 'expand' to its full circle. When trying to put it on the normal way it seems the end of the hop-up unit just isn't large enough to receive the harder tip of the bucking.
I'm afraid to try pushing any harder as that's exactly how I ripped my last bucking :P Seriously I just finished putting in a new spring and air seal nozzle with no problems now I cant get what seems like an infinity simpler thing to work. ^_^; |
Ok can someone clarify this for me?
I always thought the hop-up rubber was the sleeve that goes over the barrel, and the hop-up bucking was that little round piece that depresses into the rubber? |
best of my knowledge the bucking is the little nub.
for example: http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=720 dagda, check inside your hopup unit. make sure the brass ring isn't inside still. other than that, just use a little more silly oil on the outside of the hopup rubber/sleeve and work it in slowly. |

Hmm, my bad got my terminology mixed up :P

Edit: V! Got the ring off, just took a scary amount of force, thank you. Now what am I supposed to do with the ring? Put it on the barrel before the rubber so that it ends up where it started? |
it goes on the inner barrel and should be on the muzzle side of the hopup unit. it's basically blocking your barrel and rubber from seating properly because it's in the way.
take an allen key or some other tool and try to push it out from the other side. ie. insert the allen key where the BB's enter the hop up. |
