I just contacted Manda Int. about their We GBB Scar and here is what they sent me:

''Thank you for contact us and interested WE SCAR.

We do have plan to release the clear plastic lower receiver version later on for Canada Airsoft. The small lots production will be come first. We are welcome to take pre-order from dealer or distributor..

Regards,

Ha! I wonder how long the plastic will last with all the movements parts and recoil.

KND June 22nd, 2009 02:24

Maybe polycarbonate.

Gunny_McSmith June 22nd, 2009 02:25

it will jsut be the lower receiver that will be clear plastic.... dont think it would break... but the gun is still in developpement, so we'll have to wait....but I would defenitely buy that!

Shirley June 22nd, 2009 02:26

The moving parts will wear down the plastic..

Reckless June 22nd, 2009 02:30

isn't the real scar plastic?......

last I check the moving parts aka the bolt is upper reciever. The lower part is just the hammer. If they use fibre reinforced plastic it would probably more durable the jg416 reciever. I don't see why clear lower would be a problem AWSS SCAR lower is originally plastic anyways

The FN SCAR has an aluminum upper, polymer lower.

Nova316 June 22nd, 2009 02:45

^^ the RS scar has a polymer lower, its not full metal. I think that is what he meant by plastic

I think it would be fine if the lower was plastic, not like it does much. As long as the upper isn't plastic

question you should ask is why would AWSS spend more money to make a plastic mold when they don't have to. Made in china metal or plastic cost isn't much for production

And yes I know centerfire it's carbon fibre reinforced polymer. Those are really expensive, CA copied it with fiber reinforced plastic.

That's funny. I remember not too long ago, you were trying to do the very same. Smartened up, have we?

Hopefully some of the non-halfbreeds will make it into Canada too.
