TM SR-16 Upgrade Advice
 

I have a stock Tokyo Marui SR-16 Knights Edition. I am contemplating minor upgrade(s):

1. Contemplating a Systema 110 spring...is that easy to do and do other parts need to be upgraded with the spring upgrade.

2. Contemplating going from a 8.4V 1800 MaH NiCad to a 9.6V 3000+ MaH NiMH. I read online that the bump in voltage will yield a bit more power, but I am concerned about potential damage being new to all this.

Using the search function on the top right corner of the ASC screen will net you good information.

Anyways, a M110 spring will net you around 385 fps, you should also look at changing out the plastic bushings for steel (solid, oiless, not ball bearing bushings). I'd also suggest a sorbo pad for your cylinder head.
This will suffice until your gears start to wear, or your plastic tooth piston looses some teeth (4-6 months depending on the abuse). Then you will be looking at having to replace the piston and the gears (possibly the piston head as well).

As for the battery.....avoid using anything higher than the 8.4volt, as using a 9.6 volt will increase your rate of fire and therfore increase the speed of which your stock internals wear. At some point you will be forced to change up your internals........ then you'll be safe using the 9.6volt.

If you have the budget, upgrade everything in one shot, and have some fun.

The only upgrades I would recommend for the new spring would be a new spring guide (systema, modify or whatever meets your budget) some new bushings and a reshim and a regrease once its all installed.

Keep in mind though that a stronger spring cause more stress on a mechbox and may weaken its durability overtime, how much time its hard to say but Im sure you will be fine for atleast a while.

Awesome, so there is a m110. Theres so many companies and so many springs out there its almost impossible to keep track off. Best of luck with your upgrade!
