As you read the title no doubt you thought; "This guy is a knucklehead just asking for a smackdown.":smack: I sort of am (not a knucklehead - just asking for healthy debate). By my research I have come to the narrow-minded but possibly accurate conclusion that ther are really only two serious and viable Gas pistols out there. Let me define "serious and viable":

1. shoots 320 - 350 fps. 2. all metal 3. Easy to get parts and customize. 4. Good reviews of reliability and quality.

They are (in order of quality and price) the KWA professional training pistols and the WE Hi capa 5.1 or 3.8. Anything else is just toy junk.:wink:

Now, I welcome discussion and/or by all means show me others that are just as good. I want to know as I have a casual importer who can bring me about anything and I plan to aquire several with my tax return.:D

In terms of your choice of pistols, the KWA PTP series are very good, however, mag availability is an issue. Also, as they are KWA, they don't have trademarks at all which is fine for some but others like those in a pistol.

If you want reliability and durability, stay away from WE. They are notorious for using pot metal and bad quality control. Sure it's full metal and cheap but in airsoft you really do get what you pay for. Anyone here will tell you TM is the way to go for quality internals. It's not hard to buy a TM and acquire a metal slide for it if you want full metal. Look at some of the race guns on these boards, those are all built off TMs and customized to the tits.

All airsoft guns are just toys.

Funny, the KWA and WE are about 2 of the shittiest GBBs on the market.

I stopped working on gas guns because I was flooded with WE, and it was infuriating as hell.

Didn't the PTP series also have a problem with the loading nozzle EXPLODING into millions of fragments?

You can go right ahead and buy a full metal WE capa, i'll stick with my TM. We'll see which one performs and lasts longer.

I always thought the TM 1911 series was about the best. Never owned one myself, but everyone I've talked to says they're awesome.

KWA's aren't metal either. They've got some polymer outer barrel. Kinda retarded.

Might be a quirky pistol, but the WE P-08 Luger as awesome reviews everywhere... Shoots great out of the box, cheap mags, a bit of a gas guzzler for 15 rounds but the action is terrific ! of course you have to like the WWII style...

No such thing as best GBB and it doesn't really promote a healthy debate, more like a rehash of everyone's firm stance on their own personal experience and preference.

Best GBB for one is not necessary best GBB for another, because some people will place value over raw performance, or raw performance over long term reliability, etc.
