ICS or TM M16 ?
 

Hi all,
I have read many M16a2 a3... ect...review on this forum and I conclued that it's a pretty good gun... but I have one question :

The TM one have barrel wooble...so add an extra 180 for a solid barrel for a total of 615$ CAN
ICS says that their M16 don't have barrel wooble because it's gun-drilled..so it's good.....and it's full metal...all that for 50$ more.

But, I don't know.... I really want the ICS one because, well, no barrel wooble and full metal...but the low price is making me thinking..at this price, can I have as reliability as other brands (like TM or G&G ???)...you know, it's sound suspect to me...

Is the ICS one is a cheap and crapy one ?? I'm asking that because reliability is pretty important for me (I want a gun that will endure son pain and will still work in 3 years...)

I would just got for a Classic Army M15

The low price is not too god to be true. Get the ICS. Much more for your money unlike any TM plastic gun. Think about it....do you want to pay 500 for a hunk of plastic, then waste that much more making it realistic when it should be that way anyway? Nope didn't think so. For any further purchases, always buy the full metal/upgraded/accesorized one istead of the TM rip off. If the quality of a gun sucks that bad, boy howdy you'll hear about it.

Or ya any Classic Army will do you good as well.

Go ICS.. i bought the TM m16 andhad the barrel wobble something bad...untill i JB welded the barrel, and now im selling the TM to move on to eather an ICS or CA version of the M16...you gota love armalights

For sure, fork out the extra cash for all metal, no wobble, no plastic :) ICS is good AEG's.

TM makes excellent guns, but their armalites have poor plastic bodies that need to be changed.
Go ICS, G&P or CA

Ok so now i have two other brands to bother about : G&G and CA....I can see that G&G are lot more expensive..do it realy worth the extra cash ?

what ever you do dont buy G&G there internals are crap!!!! and CA's are good but more expencive...they had gearproblems in the past i wouldn't suggest them unless you know your way around inside a gun....what your looking for is going to be ICS or TM...to fix the wobble on TM you just jb weld(cheap at canadian tire) the barrel and then you've got a great gun for not alot of cash

you can always just jb weld you 3 peice barrel into a one peice and shes good to go, only movement is from the body slightly flexing

Classic army and Ics are both higher quality in my opinion. CA version is full metal, somthing to think about ; ). G&P also came out with an m16a3 that shoots 380fps out of the box and is also full metal for a small price of 320$ at redwolfairsoft.com. Unfortionatly, its not a canadian retailer :(

don't know... I've snapped more metal bodies than plastic ones... They break as easely. Remember that we are talking about either pot metal, magnesium
or white metal not 7075-T7 drop forged receivers. Yhe only receivers that will stand up to the test of time are the limited edition cnc machined receivers or the DTP clubs. But thta is just what i see in fixing guns year round.

replacement metal bodies...200 ish... replacement plastic bodies ... 50 ish

more metal also means more weight....

Also I've had issues with ICS guns and aftermarket parts....fitting a new mechbox in is proving to be a pain in the ass...

Whatever you decide make sure all internal components are compatible with TM aftermarket parts as all parts are based on their design.

if youre going for as close to real steel functioning,on the ICS charging the T handle makes the dust cover flip open, and the forward assist also works (it decompresses the spring). on the mauri the dust cover flips open, the forward assist is fake.
on any other gun (correct me if im wrong) the dust cover doesnt flip open when you charge the T handle(you have to manualy flip it open) and the forward assist is fake.
i am going the systema road because of the durability(i know alot of people dont want to pay the price) even though the T handle only moves a little and the forward assist is fake. i might eventually get a ICS gun because i am stoked om the flip open dust cover and the functioning forward assist and i like the realistic stuff . ive never owned a gun so i dont know about any of the guns durabilities in the long run but ive played enough games on my friends guns no know that TM guns barrel wobble blows and the body flex blows; however, the fact that the dust cover flips open when you charge the T handle is a COOL factor for me. but i am all about realistic functioning.
too bad the systema guns T handles dont come out more than an inch or so and the dust cover is fixed, but the bolt release works and the gun stops firing when its out of ammo, unlike any other gun that keeps dry firing after youre out of ammo

You forgot about the fancy aluminum receiver on the Systema. But seriously, for a toss-up between ICS and Marui, I have to go ICS all the way.

Myself, I've never broken a metal body nor seen one broken by anyone. I have seen alot of plastic ones broken though, on Maruis from a PSG/1 to M4 to MP5.

And the ICS does have a quick-change upper receiver if you're so inclined.

The split mechbox design is a big draw, but so is the fact that TM has tonnes of internal upgrades compared to realtively few for ICS.
