What is the highest capacity batt you can put in MP5K?

Hey guys. I was wondering what the highest capacity batter that can be put inernally in an MP5K?

I was thinking of following this guide:

http://www.airsoftcore.com/postt3416...highlight=mp5k

Now, I just don't know what battery is best to put in there. I don't have any batts nor a charger yet... but I was thinking of ordering some from BB Bastard. I'm interested in his charger. I heard that you can't use 600mah batts for it though.

I was hoping to put a 9.6V batt in the MP5K, but which kind? :???:

Any recommendations?

www.cheapbatterypacks.com, order an 8.4V or 9.6V battery made out of 1400mAh 2/3A cells. Read up about batteries at www.batteryuniversity.com

I am not sure if all 1400 mAh cells are the same but the Intellect 1400 mAh cells are slightly larger and require modifications to fit in some airsoft guns. Intellect does make a 1200 mAh cell that is the exact same size as a standard 600 mAh Sanyo Ni-Cd cell.

I'm looking at measurements for the IB1400 cells, and they're EXACTLY the same as the IB1200 and the GP1100. Your battery pack may have had extra heat shrink or other stabilizing materials on it, increasing the dimensions.

The MP5K takes 'stick' batteries.
8.4 volts is the standard, 9.6 volts require modding the gun and start to stress the internals.
If you mean the MAH, the more the better.

Some of the Intellect packs I've seen have rigid plastic sheeting or something inside em, saw a couple online that had a black piece of something on the top and bottom of the pack. But I dont think there are any worries with stick batteries.

NOTE: Tokyo Marui,H&K MP5k PDW
$30.73

From cheapbatterybacks.com . Includes 1400mah cells. Will come up to about 60 when it hits your door, but a good deal nonetheless.

$60 is a complete overestimate. I've ordered from CBP before and what I've paid has been essentially exchange + shipping, no extra customs fees. There will be customs fees on NiCad batteries however, but not NiMH. Also, the "upgrade" is not necessary and will probably not cause a noticeable performance increase. You can shave $5 off that price without the upgrade.

Highly recommend the BB Bastard charger - I purchased the same model off ebay, and it's simple to use and charges quickly.

toxoviper May 29th, 2006 18:42

Well, I was hoping to get a 9.6V 1400mah Ni-MH stick from CBP, but I was also considering BB Bastard's charger....

Since I'd be ordering from BB Bastard, I was considering of just getting my 9.6V stick batt from him (his 1100mah ones).

Are the intellect cells better than the 1100mah ones from BB Bastard?

Well, I was thinking that since it would be possible to put a 9.6V batt into an MP5-K (with some modding of the cocking handle/tube), I was thinking of just popping one in.

The gun has a Promethues M90 spring with bearing spring guide, metal bushings, stock gears. Would 9.6V be overkill? I was hoping for a good rate of fire without having to upgrade to fast ratio gears.

Greylocks May 29th, 2006 19:43

Oh, it will be fast. Since you had not said what else was in the gun, I did not want to suggest more voltage than what it's designed to take.

Intellect cells are probably the best cells for airsoft uses at the moment; GP cells are catching up, though. Scarecrow's batteries are fine for stock guns, but Intellect cells will out perform them any day; you're comparing top of the line with the average. For one thing, BB Bastard minis are only available in 1100mah (BB Bastard is a store, not a cell manufacturer), while Intellect (who both develop and manufacture cells) minis go up to 1400mah, which equals many more shots per full charge and slightly faster rate of fire (mah can affect rate of fire).

Dozer_01 May 29th, 2006 21:48

I used my SRC M4 at the stargate games with one of those intellect 8.4v 1200mah mini batteries and was able to fire off roughly 17 lowcaps worth (4 highcaps) @ 300fps stock velocity. I was firing quite a bit of full auto as well. It was quite cold that day.
