WE 1911- safety can be engaged with hammer up
 

I'm not sure if this is common across all WE models but basically the safety can be half-engaged (still prevents side from moving back) without cocking the slide or engaging the hammer.

with the real 1911 I know the safety can only be engaged once it is cocked.

I'm wondering if the WE 1911 that I have has something wrong with it.
