R-Hop/Flat-Hop in Toronto or GTA?

As the title says, I have a TM VSR 10, and I would like to get it PROPERLY R-hopped or G/Flat-hopped. Is there anyone in Toronto, or the GTA up to the task? Need to get it done before the 17th of Sept.

I don't have the tools to cut or install it, and I don't want to learn how to on a EDGi barrel.

Knife, sand paper, and adhesive. A vice and the installation tool along with the z kit. It's very easy

Looks simple, but what does he mean by radiusing the patch? Since he does that OFF CAMERA. Seems like an important step that he fails to show.

@5:00 he does the radiusing.

All it is, is running the sand paper over the edge of the patch to prevent it from pinching in the window

But you're right, the guy in the first video should not have done that step off camera.

I just feel like paying a tech to do a r hop is like paying an electrician to come to your house just to flip a breaker

ThunderCactus September 4th, 2016 13:58

More accurately, it's like paying an electrician to install a wall plug.
The job seems simple enough when you've done it a few times, but you'd be fucking AMAZED how many people fuck it up horribly.

Yeah, ^ that is a much better analogy lol

I can tell he is rubbing the edges with sandpaper... but nobody actually explains what they are doing or looking for or when to stop.

Are you just angling the edges? Are you angling it toward the barrel or away?

===/-\= or ===\-/=

You can tell from how he has the tool in the vice. Your 2nd picture, if the bottom is the inside of the barrel. And as he says, you only take off just a wee little bit.

And I don't know what you mean he doesn't explain, I think he explains what he is doing just fine.

You can thank me later daishi :)

daishi September 4th, 2016 18:01

Yah, I just ordered a zkit, and extra set of rubbers in case I mess up, the install tool, m-nub, the vsr arm for the m-nub, cleaning rod and cleaning tool...or at-least I sent him the email. Hopefully he gets back to me soon.... I need it for the 17/18th.

Thanks for sticking with the thread Syndakit!
