GBB not working

Having trouble....My first GBB pistol.....Ive loaded the mag with bb's, filled the mag with gas and when I try and fire, the hammer goes but gun does not fire. Seems no gas is being released. Any suggestions?

is it new?

apilar September 24th, 2013 20:41

rack the slide with magazine out.
Insert magazine
Rack slide again

does it shoot?

Trouble11 September 24th, 2013 20:42

yes....thank you apilar

Trouble11 September 24th, 2013 20:44

I assume that needs to be done every time I insert a new mag?

apilar September 24th, 2013 20:51

usually no.. but on one of my guns i changed the firing pin. The new one sticks out farther than the stock firing pin and gets caught on the gas valve.. this means that when the hammer goes back it cant pull the firing pin back because its stuck on that valve.

However, if you cock the hammer or rack the slide without the magazine there is no valve in the way and the firing pin will get pulled back with the hammer and ur following shots will be fine.

If this is a brand new gun it should absolutely not be happening.

1st. Try a different magazine. It may be the magazine lip feeding incorrectly. Does it lock open afterwards? (is it GBB is it a NBB?)

2nd. Is the gun jamming? Maybe the magazine isn't completely inserted? It it the magazine that came with the gun?

Sounds like a feeding issue. Where is the gas coming out? Through the barrel or the ejection port?

Worst comes to worst, you educate yourself. See if there is a disassembly video on youtube and try to completely strip the gun. You'll see if there are any warped pins or torn O-rings. Be careful and take your time. It will take you a few hours but you'll learn a lot. Heck, I learned how to make my M9 go full auto because of youtube. lol. Do it at a workbench or kitchen table and use half of a cardboard box to put around the table ( so if any springs shoot out, they will hopefully bounce off the box.. but a good video will warn of this).http://www.airsplat.com/Items/AC-GAS-TOOL-KIT.htm

I know exactly the cause of your problem:

Solution: Get rid of it and buy a Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1. Or if you HAVE to buy a clone, get the WE. Don't buy a clone of a clone... that's just asking for failure.

Drake September 26th, 2013 17:52

actually, if it's a full clone of the WE this is normal... at least for single stack 1911 (the hicapas are supposed to be TM clones?): there's a mechanism that simulates not firing on an empty chamber, even with a loaded mag inserted. You have to rack the slide (or it has to cycle about an inch) for the gun to fire wheen the hammer drops.
