A&K masada fix up.

I bought a stock A&k Masada off a friend. I found it to be a little underwhelming in response, grouping and range. I've got some parts and I need help figuring out where best to spend my money next.

So I set about upgrading it.

This is what I've done so far:
madbull V2 509mm 6.03 inner barrel.
guarder clear hop-up rubber.
(this should help with groupings)

I have ordered a lonex a-1 titian motor my thinking is this should help with slow response.

Also 110m spring. (a little better range without making it to high fps)

Now for the question: What would you do to this gun next? if you had $100 to spend.

I would have done compression checks on the piston/cylinder/nozzle/hopup before spending money. Fixing compression is the biggest factor for accuracy... even on a new gun.

You could try looking for the metal hop up and nozzle, it takes a special sling adaptor too ( I made my own). They also have a rail kit you can buy as we'll

1. Get a new nozzle, stock A&K nozzle has no o-ring and is prone to cracking. I suggest Wii-tech. It's metal, and the compression achieved from that is far superior to the stock nozzle.
2. Might as well get a new hop-up as well, go full metal I also recommend Wii-tech for this.
*I believe they sell a package that incorporates both these parts*
3. Test your piston head compression with the new nozzle.
4. Re-shim if you're dropping in a new motor.

Test and see.

Possibly upgrade the piston if it's stock, it's a cheaper plastic piston that will crack.

I also have a A&K Masada. I got it here on ASC with a new piston and tightbore first thing I would suggest is a piston head piston and the wiitech upgrade kit for $72 shipping included from ebay, it upgrades the nozzle feed mechanism and hop up to metal its a great deal for what your getting. You can also pick up a sling mount that goes on the top rail (basically like the magpul one just without the $25 price tag) from here

I also picked up rails and a grip from that site for cheap (note the shipping is pretty slow cause its free)

If you have any questions shoot me a msg I'm not the most knowledgeable but I have good gun docs on my team :P

Edit: also for quicker response lipos pick up some cheap hobby king ones and convert to deans that should improve the responses cause I don't notice that much of a lag on mine

Ok ordered:
the wii tech kit
Wii tech piston
piston head

Well lets see if it makes a difference.

Just be careful with the Lonex. Lonex A1 motors are recommended to use with M130 springs and higher. Using a lighter spring may cause a pre-engagement to the piston and destroy it.

I'm using a M120 but have short stroked a lightened piston that gives me a 400fps set-up with 16:1 ratio gears. Very quick trigger respond time.

where do you get 130 or higher? you are doing it wrong.

lonex A1s work with any spring that gets you roughly 400 fps. So that's a 110 spring from most manufacturers.

It's printed right on the box of the Lonex motor. Like I said, you just need to be careful. I did not say don't use it. I'm running a 400fps set-up.

Shame wish you browsed the classifieds more cuz there was a guy who was selling a Wii Tech kit for an A&K Masada for 35$

A slightly related question... Is the air nozzle of A&K Masada and A&K M60 interchangable?
