AK mags

i'm confused
i have 2 AK47s
looked at both mags
look the same(almost)
one is crossman...metal mag
other is my 60th anniversary kalashnikov(no clue as to brand) with hicap mag made of plastic
comparing the mags, the look very very similar where even the holes where the BBs align
biggest difference is the tiny tab holding the BBs from flying out are on opposite sides
if i try loading the mags in the other gun, it will not fire
they load and lock into each other, just does not release the BBs
i'd like to get more mags, but am afraid to in case i get mags that won't work
i'm looking at another AK(Kalashnikov AK74 SU)
wondering if that mag is also different from these
also, does AK mags fit the SVD dragunov?
in pics....ribbed is crosman
last pic, tops, right is wafle and left is ribbed(crosman)

Ribbed magazine is a Russian AK-47 style magazine, bulgarian style waffle magazine is the other.

I don't understand does the magazine not feed properly?

AKS-74u uses a AK-74 5.45x39mm magazine it is not as curved as the 7.62x39 magazines

the anniversary might be Cybergun
i don't know enough about the airsoft guns to tell
no, when mag is in other gun, BBs do not feed, stays in mag

The crossman mag won't feed in your cyma because the they aren't compatible. The tab that releases the bb's is in the wrong spot, its in front of the bb's on the cyma mag, and behind them on the cyma. I don't think you can buy spare crossman mags from any one but crossman. All other Ak mags should fit and feed fine in your other gun

Borealis August 9th, 2013 18:38

I have the 60th anniversary AKM and my midcap mags from MAG feed fine in mine, in fact they feed to the last bb.

just got back from chicken hunting with my crosman AKS47
the hicap mag from the anniversary works great in it
odd how the AKS mag doesnt work in the anniversary
no, i did not harm the chickens
used the AK to redirect the chickens back to the farm away from harm
