G&P m14 ebr

I'm looking at purchasing a G&P m14 ebr. I have a couple questions

1: g&p is known to have trouble with their gears in there m4s. Does that problem carry into the m14 ebr?

2: is there a better company that makes this gun?

3: I'm a pretty small guy (5' 7 150 pounds) this gun weights about 3 pounds more and is 10 cm longer then my current m4. I also like to stay mobile. Would this gun not really be a good choice for me?

They still sell G&P M14 EBRs?

I own a CYMA M14 EBR and I love it. Naturally, being an EBR, it's heavy - especially with attachments. The CYMA is a Tokyo Marui clone and is compatible with ALL parts. Technically the only part of mine that's still CYMA is the body, lol.

They're cheap, pretty good straight out of the box, and easily upgradable. I'm 5'9" 145lbs and yeah, it can get heavy after a few hours. One of those forgrips that transforms into a bipod is great for moving weight off the front.

That's honestly the biggest problem with the G&G and G&P EBR is that they use the sage style stock. The battery and all the weight is on the front end. I use a CTR stock on mine and put the battery in there. Balances the weight a little bit :) Front end weight seems to amplify the heaviness. Sometimes I don't know how people use an EBR long type with a silencer and bipod o nthe end. O_o

I didn't realize G&P stopped making them. I seen a couple on some sites so I figured they still did. But I'm really interested in the cyma now. I've read a lot about them and there's some mixed emotions about the rifle. One person says there amazing, another says the metal body is terrible and cracks... But call me crazy but I like the crane stock.

G&G and CA make them too.

Cracks? REALLY? Lol - Maybe on their old guns, but the EBR is CNC steel. No way that's gonna crack on you. Crane stock is great for battery storage, but you can attach whatever you want. I use MOE stock with the cheek riser. I cut a hole in the MOE stock and ran a battery up into the cheek riser. The stock looks kinda like the EBR from Call of Duty.

Only real problems out of the box with the CYMA is you have to tighten the screws on the grip or stock tube IF they're loose. Which is really simple. If the stock is wobbly, like on a lot of guns, a piece or 3 of electrical tape will help that.

I do agree - the sage stock is sexy as hell, but the weight drawback is annoying. It's not so bad when there are no attackments or JUST a scope, lol. Wish you could buy the sage stock separate though... it'd be a fun little option to have.

It's expensive but the M14 EBR, and I have one, is a TM M14 into the G&P EBR kit. Solid as rock, sexy, and performs like a good TM should! It's just a little costly but like everything in life you get what you pay for!
