Goggles VS Mesh Goggles
Hey Guys
Just wondering if anyone has used the MESH goggles. They look like they are quite breathable but is it hard to see? Also for regular goggles, where can I buy a good quality, cheap set of goggles? Suggestions, comments, answers?? |
Mesh Goggles breath great but as soon as the light gets dim, it's really hard to see. I would say they are perfect for a sunny day and winter play.

It is a hot topic in the community but in this boys opinion I say steel mesh is alright haven't had any issues. As for wire mesh it has way less stability and I wouldn't trust it.
|
I would never ever use mesh goggles. why take the chance? a bad BB shatters and nice eyeful of plastic bits
|
I am building a loadout to be as versatile and cost effective as possible, but the one thing I did not care about the price tag on was goggles. Just spend the extra money and get a GOOD pair of fullseal goggles. It is much easier to replace a lens than an eye. IMO, your eye protection should be the best you can afford at the time.
|
Personally for me when it comes to eyepro it's ballistic or bust. I would rather have my eyes protected by something that has a real, tested, protection rating rather than something that does not.
There is a lot of topics about the safety of mesh goggles so I won't get into that. A lot of people that use mesh and have no problem with it, in the end it's your eyes so the decision about how you protect them is yours. If you want a good set of goggles that won't break the bank look to Armyissue. He has some ISS goggles that are surplus for like $40. |
Thanks Guys. Some good points that I will take into consideration.

I have had bb bounced off my goggles before and I will not take my chances when it comes to my vision.

go to ArmyIssue and get the surplus ESS ballistics for about 10-15 buckeroos

But id suggest buyin a new pair of ess turbo fans they arent cheap but they will last a long time have a built in prety quiet fan use em with some fogtech and yer gravy. I use the non fan ones they are around 100 bucks new and with fogtech they dont fog just get some water droplets once in a while. They come with a clear and a tinted lense. I love my mesh but i have had a bb shatter on them and send particles fly into them so it is a risk and most fields dont allow them |
they're cheap but ballistic :)
|
I prefer mesh due to fogging issues, but some fields may not allow them. Personal opinions vary, some folks are wary of bio bbs in particular shattering but I've yet to meet someone that it's happened to personally.
