now the obvious question for the non-informed:

Buying blanks in Canada -> Legal? Requires PAL/POL or not?

you can get a licence just for purchasing ammo, a pal is only like 100$ though.

Not sure if blanks fall into the "ammo" catagory tho. I know you can buy. .22 blanks at the hardwear store to use in a ramset.

Well, it's not like you just pay 100 $ up front and get your PAL right away. Take or challenge the course, fill up the form, take the photo, pay the fee and a lots of patience then finally your PAL show up. The whole process took about 2 months or more.

Yup but I'm pretty sure they're categorized differently because of the usage's nature; That's pure speculation though

Yeap, a quick search on RCMP didn't prove useful, hence the visit to CGN; No more luck I'd say -> *Some guy* implied that blans are fine, but ... yeah, wathever

A second search around RCMP's playground led me to this:

Interesting, that'd means even ramsets are considered firearms, according to the firearm act (and criminal code, but that's no surprise)

I guess the questions that remains are:
Can the VTG be imported, and will they be allowed by the community in general?

From the video in OP, they seem to output, albeit small and short lived, a flame; I'm not sure they would cause any real fire-risk but I'm no specialist on the matter. I'm curious to know if anyone more knowledgeable in the area could pitch in?

I'd be more concerned about getting the device across the border than the legality of the blanks. I want one..... Maybe an email to the manufacturer to see if they have ever shipped to canada.

Would've been great if they made it in .22 cal though. Much easier to find and a lot less dB for CQB.

Without having to show your pal? You have to show for regular ammo i know that i tryed lookin on their site too but didntsee an exception listed on blanks

On their FAQ. I assume they state blank guns only to 18+ as it varies from the license requirement of the aforementioned ammunition.

About importing these, Canada is indeed listed in countries they ship to... But as we know, this might not mean much...

I was looking at the "M84 replica" they sell; it looks just like a real one but full silver and holes that are just "notches" in the body. Not sure gow this wiuld be looked at, at the border. I feel this is yet another "gray area" we're looking at, is it?

I recall reading they sell adaptors so you can use different callibers; I don't recall seeing .22 but I'd be surprised if it wouldn't be in that list

After some research, I found that they have shotgun primer .209 adapter for sale.

I think that this would better for CQB. Personaly, I think that 120dB for insode is much too loud and can be dangerous to a point.
