I've sent a email to the company asking if they are ansi 87.1 cert. But what do you guys think about them? Does any one know any other online retailer for prescription safety goggles?

I think it's more convenient to have contact instead -allow you to get your favorite tint and vast options.

alot of people dont like sticking contacts in their eyes, myself included. But those Revision goggles look like they would fog up too... and, also, Im not sure I like the look of those either, they look like your regular glasses inside goggles without the arms.

the nice thing about the ones I found was it has an option for anti fog coating on the lenses. I just hope they are ansi cert.

I wear a pair of Revision Desert Locust Fan Goggles with the prescription insert. Love them. My optometrist had lenses made and fitted easily, and with the fan I have yet to encounter any fogging issues.
the prescription frame locks inside the goggle frame quite nicely, and with a thermal lens option for the goggles, I can't see any fogging issues in my future.

Matt if you don't mind me asking , how much $ did it set you back?

The prescription lenses ran me $69.95 plus taxes from iVision (just got a pair of standard lenses, no coatings or anything), the prescription carrier retails for around $20.00, and the goggles depend on if you're buying it with one lens, 2 lenses, 3 lenses, or the fan version with 2 lenses ( the 2 lens fan goggle runs about $170 retail, with the 2 lens no fan is about $99 retail).

just get contacts, if you get inserts then there's two surfaces to fog instead of one!

agreed, I would suck it up and do contacts before I would do inserts anyways. What I want is prescription goggles. If your going to wear goggles, you might as well wear prescribed ones. That and insurance plans will pay for them! Basically getting the best goggles you can get for free!

Those wiley x sg-1 goggles look like they are war proof too

I actually had SG-1's - sold them to Cooney - they fogged so often it was like someone was wiping a hot ballsack on them every 2 minutes.

Good luck finding a place that will let you ship Wiley's to Canada - I actually had to pay 70$ on ebay for them and convince the shipper to send to Canada.

I even went to optics planet - Wiley has an agreement that doesn't let them ship over the border

At least - this is the reason they gave me when I had to request a refund put back on my credit card.

I've got contacts specifically for airsoft now... what worries me about them is how well they will hold up in longer games. Sitting at the office, they start to bug me after 4 or 5 hours... at the 2 airsoft games I've worn them at, they lasted the entire game (8 hours) with no drying or irritation... I have gone 14-16 hours wearing them but by the end of that stint, they were REALLY dry.

I'm not quite sure what I will do for a 24 hour game if it comes to it. As they start sticking to my eyelids when they dry out and moving off the spot they're supposed to be at. They do float back into position by themselves, but it takes a bit of blinking which makes me with blurred vision until they set back up.

Also, prior to this year, I have never worn contacts before, learning to put them in and take them out is no big deal, and next time you have an eye exam, tell them you want to try them.. they will show you how to set yourself up, put them in, take them out, and the care of disposables. A trial pair are pretty cheap, I paid around 20 bucks and they experimented with 2 different brands so I actually got 2 pairs for the fee, so it costs very little to try them at least.

Secondly, depending how much you play ( or wear them), that pair (I was given 2 week disposables) could cover almost an entire summer of games... if you take good care of them, you can stretch them a few days past, so you can wear them up to 14+ days and store them whenever you don't use them.

Lurkingknight I use to wear contacts all the time but work forbids them now, but I always had a bottle of drops on me for when they started drying out and irritating me. Usually a few drops per eye would cover me for a hours. You could easily keep a bottle on you and use it in the safe zone as needed.
