Sapi plates thickness
 

I would like to know what is the thickness of real sapi plates. I searched on the web and couldn't find my answer. is there a range of thickness or it is all the same, I found anything between 0.5'' and 1.5"?

depends on what there made of and what threat level there rated for

level 3
ballistic steel is 3/8"
ceramic is 3/4"
and poly is 1"

level 4
steel is 1/2"
ceramic is 1"

im sure there are thinner ones out there, but thats a good ball park figure

(my real level 4 stand alone ceramic plates are 1" and the pair weigh in at just under 10 lbs )
