I think it's actually a rule that you have a have a price listed for any items in the classifieds, just to make sure people don't do a "make an offer" kind of thing.

I'm sure listing free as a price would be fine. The price rule is to stop auctions.

We already have a free stuff section. Remember, it was created a couple weeks after the major site migration back in august, when we made all the cool new additions to ASC & then we decided to limit access to the top 10% of members based on wit and intellig......

in all seriousness . it does happen, but it's generally local stuff ... or usually in the classifieds it's gimme $XX for all this crap I don't want/need to cover shipping etc...

What would NOT be allowed is something like: " I just want to get rid of it, so whoever makes the best offer... " since then it becomes bidding.
