Anyone used this Doctor Optic CLONE?
They are really inexpensive, like 30 bucks. are they a waste of money? Should I just go for one from 1337 tactical or something.

Had one on a MP5 I sold, didn't game it. You must know that it is a very tiny RDS, I could send you pictures if you ask me by PM.

works just fine. a bit of ghosting but nothing that would make me want to buy a real one.
I got mine from DX: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.21959 the dot is incredibly small compared to my aimpoint and other RDS. the only real issue is that the rail mount is where the switch is attached so you cannot mount this clone directly onto a pistol slide, by removing the rail mount, which I had thoughts of doing. it's now on my MP5 or gets swapped over to my m500. |

Maybe I've played too much MW2, but that would look badass on a SCAR.

i think MW2 makes the docter sight look HUGE.
|
Is the doctor sight in that link u posted adjustable for windage and elevation?
|
Looks like an allen key hole on the right side. You will notice the little white arrow on it as well.

The reviews on DX are generally positive. The good thing is it's very bright but the thing that stopped me from buying it was I wasn't sure about the compatibility of the mount.

It's a good sight, but the ones without the switch at the back are far superior. The battery life is amazing on them.

I bought one back in May, mini review here.
Gamed it twice since on a TM P90; it's held up fine so far, no lens hits yet (crossing fingers ;)) Battery still working after 3 hrs or so of on time. Holds its' zero fine, though a P90's the wrong test platform for that (no recoil); anyone get one of these on a GBB yet? The included mount fits 20mm rails. I'm guessing, but it might fit a RS Docter mount if a slot is milled for the switch. The dot is still bright and crisp, but I find it washes out against a bright background (though most red-dots do that); I'd love to see a green-dot version of this. |
I saw a doctor sight on ana cog this past weekend and damn that thing was smaller then a loonie.
If you want a cheap good red dot buy a crosman red dot, the ones that go from 10 - 20 dollars tops usually. Bought one for my dad for his pellet gun (which does have recoil) and it works perfectly, reticle doesn't move at all, no ghosting, small and compact and even the windage and elevation are fully workable. The only thing is that it has too short of screws that come with it, you may need longer screws to mount on a regular aeg rail. I think NCStar sells a red dot like this too I believe. If you do decide to by this RDS, google and youtube search for a review on it if you can. |
