Upgrading a VFC SCAR Heavy?

Hey guys,
Just wondering if you could help a newb out. Been into paintball for the last 9 years and trying something new so any help would be great as I basically know next to nothing...

Purchased a VFC Scar Heavy and I hear that all gearboxes, barrels, and everything is different so would like some suggestions on the best parts to upgrade to. Price isn't much of an object as long as it doesn't go over 500. Thanks in advance!

I suggest you to keep it stock until it breaks since stock VFC will last you very long than some upgrade gun out there. You can trust me on this one.

I agree with what KND said about internals,
but for externals I'd look into:
more magazines, a sling, and a Red Dot Sight for just getting started.

You can shop at:

Airsoftparts.ca
Ehobbyasia.com
Redwolfairsoft.com
Uncompany.com
wgcshop.com
airsoftglobal.com

Just to name a few.

Don't mean to jeck the thread but I figured I'd tag on. I remember I read somewhere that the VFC hop-up is proprietary. Can someone confirm this?

Yes, it's priority and it's not easy to broke as long as you are patience enough. You can get extra one from oversea though.

I'm still running a JG I got back in early 09 with no maintenance whatsoever. If a clone can be that reliable, VFC can hold up :D

Only thing I have heard about the VFC Scar is

Change the Hop Rubber
and the hop nub

that is the only changes you should need to make if any...

if it is shooting fine then don't piss with it...

Yup, correct. Other than that, don't mess around with your SCAR. You will fuck it up, like I did.

Did you tear your rubber when disassembling your SCAR?

I don't like the VFC cylinder head, it leaks at the base and moves.

Yes. But I learned a lot from doing so. I would still recommend against it though.

Thanks a lot guys, so basically change the crap hop-up which I can't swap out and the cylinder head and should be good?
