cheap way to carry mags, ideas??

so im looking for a cheap way to carry my mp5 mags, eventually i would like to get this vest and also get the marpat mp5 mag holders for it

http://airsoftbb4u.com/index.php?mai...roducts_id=347

but bcuz money is quite tight right now, and i would still like to be able to get out to a game, im lookin for ideas/ways to carry my mp5 mags during a game, without having to spend over $100 on a vest and molle mag holders for now

just wondering if any1 had any ideas/suggestions, i was thinkin maybe even just getting the mp5 mag holder and looping it/cliping it onto my belt, not sure how well that would work or how comfortable it would be

Zip-ties + ziploc bags/trash bag. As cheap as you can get!

BABU June 7th, 2010 14:41

hahaha as nice n cheap taht sounds, doesnt sound very sturdy....and id be more bothered if i ended up losing $80 worth of mags on the field :S

now im possibly thinkin maybe even a fanny pack...as long as it would be big enough, lol...i know that would look super stupid and id feel like a goof wearing it...but as long as my mags fit into it and i could use it i would work

but id def prefer a less ridiculous way, lol
possibly any cheap $20 vest out there with big enough pockets to carry mp5 mags??

Surplus bren gun pouches.. get 2 .. one to hold full mags one to hold empty ones.. typically found a surplus shops for about $5 to $10 each

They will hold 6 or so mags and attach to any belt

BABU June 7th, 2010 14:51

nvm, googled it, lol

ask them... they are not nearly as popular an item as they used to be .. but most surplus shops still have some kicking around in the the dark corners

Two words; leg rig.

http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/catalogse...=leg+pouch&p=2

I have one for my M4 mag and Mp5 Mags

BABU June 7th, 2010 15:46

oh cool, thnx, those drop leg holsters look pretty good and well priced, just wondering though, how are the costs by the time it gets into canada??? and how long are the shiping times roughly?? at least from the site you linked me to, im assuming you have ordered off there so would have a general idea of the costs and time

When I bought a jersey online from the states, I had to pay like $45 for import charge so I'd say maybe around there but I really have no idea.

BABU June 7th, 2010 16:01

ya tahts what im worried about, cuz then it really wont be worth it, any1 know of any canadian retailers taht sell mp5 drop leg holsters???

i found some on ebay but all from hong kong

Ehobby has chest rigs that got for like $15 usd plus shipping, it'll last you as long as it takes to save up for the rig u really want

sarosh June 7th, 2010 16:13

if you have a belt you can use a dump pouch even

fi3re June 7th, 2010 16:14

just a note, I have no personal experience with mp5 mag pouches, but MP5 standard mags fit into a M16 mag pouch quite perfectly. Just saying, if you run both MP5 and armalite, go for armalite mag pouches. They are usually cheaper as well.

*what i mean is 2 mp5 mags will fit in a single armalite mag pouch

If you want even cheaper than having to buy anything at all, use your pockets (presuming you have BDU/tactical pants). Ones with velcro or button or what-have-you closures work well, lol.

ya takin a look at the site now i do see plenty priced very low, the only thing im worried about is ordering a $20 vest and some pouches and then paying like another $40 in shipping and duty fees, then i almsot might as well have waited a bit more and got a better vest taht cost around $100, for this quick cheap alternative i would prefer to pik up something locally in a store or at least if bought online buy it from a canadian retailer, to minimize cost

and about teh bdu, ya i have bdu, they should be arriving this week, but i wouldnt wanna risk losing my mags bcuz they fell outta my pockets, need something with closure or that will hold the mag in place sturdily
