Hey one question guys, for you Plate Carriers what do you guys prefer?
Hard plastic hollow Sapi plates? or
Soft foam Sapi shaped plates?

Hard plastic is not confortable at all...
Foam is a little better.

Quick question: Where do you guys get replica plates for your cheat rigs, CIRAS's et cetera?

depends. if you want realism, go with the hard. i use a PC but no plates. this is airsoft. i only got the PC cause i like the full coverage and it looks like sex. (and cause its an EAGLE MC PC as well;))

I got mine from 204 Tactical, but I don't think they carry them anymore.

I personally found the hollow plates quite uncomfortable in my Weesatch, and switched to softer inserts.

is there anyone in CANADA that carries thsoe plates?

I use the "hard" plates. Realism, and also find it helps distribute heavy loads on the rigs (kinda like a solid frame in a backpack). I can carry a lot more weight comfortably than with a soft assault vest, for example.

The hollowness of the plates is somewhat annoying. I'm looking at suitable materials to fill them and make the fully solid. (resin, fiberglass, something... still looking)

People have filled their dummy plates with packed down flour or sand, if you want to try that.

Plate carriers are designed to fit with plates in them. I used those Toy Soldier plastic plates (from 204 Tactical) in both the Wasatch and a CIRAS. Those rigs fit way better with the plates in than without.

Try sterilized play sand (available at any home renovation store). It will add mass, and still be removable if needed. Get a hole filler from Crappy Tire (usually in the automotive section, the plastic ones used to fill grommet holes in cars). Drill the correct hole size, fill with sand, then plug the hole. Make the hole on the top of the plate, not the bottom, in case the filler ever pops out.

Get the hollow plastic plates. They work amazing. Either that or get the real deal.

i agree 100% with mac, the rigs fit and sit 10X better with plates. the plastic plates are best and they dont flex, but that in istelf is a downfall, esspecially when prone. theres no give lol. also they have a nice side feature, they are more audible when hit where the foam plates just absorb the hit and you barley hear it, except for the sound it makes hitting the fabric. i use the foam plates because they are a little more forgiving, but i would prolly switch to a ts plate setup.

as for where to get em, MOST vest come with the foam plates installed already, but redwolf usually has them, as for 204.

204 doesnt have em anymore.

Translated, he suggested that expanding foam stuff used for insulation in houses. That seems like a really good idea. Some of my plates are a bit cracked (they`re rather fragile); filling them with sand just seems like they'll eventually crack for real and leave me with a vest full of loose sand.

You can get those toy soldier plates off eBay, btw. They come out to about the same price as what 204 was selling them for, even after shipping from Asia.

I can bring these plates in for people, if interested. I have an order going out this weekend.

Any chances of large size?

I don't have the belly to use hard plates comfortably (I have used them though), so I just cut my own out of a matress.
