New site - up again and better than ever.

gone on Xmas holidays?... doesn't want to upset his clients with backlog and mixed orders in the holiday rush?

Or... do we all start getting umbrellas again?

I was thinking holiday type stuff.. but at the same time I was also thinking it might be raining men!

I don't know about the site being taken down, but he posted on a local message board that he was going to be closed dec 22 to jan 2.

Maybe his site messed up and he figured it'd be easier to wait for the new site than to try and fix the old one or something.

wth? What about those planning to buy for Christmas. Closing for a month to do a site redesign is long. Also he could have the site designed in parallel to the one he has now.

If it *just* happened, what about waiting a few hours (or better yet, a few days) before panicking? :P

This is my first dealing with Mark and I don't understand where the freaking out comes from, I am sure he gets mobbed by emails but mine were answered with-in 24 hours and he was great... as I am very picky

If the sky was falling, again, he'd probably say something to the effect. This looks to be an annoyingly timed site work, as I was planning on making a purchase this week. I hope he's accepting email orders, I can't go until January without a sidearm.

I won't speculate. Why someone would close down in the 3+ weeks before Xmas (when we buy ourselves presents...) is curious timing though. Not that we need to panic, but when it's the one online catalog we have, it ranks in my books as "sucks".

just redoing my website I had some major issues with the site that had to be fixed NOW and I would rather fix them now then have bigger issues down the road.

i was actually afriad i wouldnt be able to order some stuff off A&A near christmas . i am very relieved

no business as usuall and just had a major issue with the old webite that I had to deal with asap and I have a new one just about done but cannot have them both up running at the same time was causing more issues so just took the main one down.. this is really my slow season jan is when we get busy.

Too bad. I was thinking of grabbing a couple of mags and other items next week. Oh well, as long as I receive the outstanding KWJ M9 mag that didn't make it into my order, I'm happy.

Mark said he'll try to open Friday. If you really need to order something, you can place an order via email. It's what I did and it processed within 24 hours.

Isn't Mark out west? He said he'd try to open after supper, right? So he'd be like 2-3 hours behind us...so right now it would be close to 6 or 7. Let the man eat.

The old site is still accessible. You can't really navigate via the links, but the search engine is working fine.

Maybe Mark will have a Website reopening sale tied in with Christmas sale? Remaining on defcon 1 in case the PTW's end up going for 30% off.;)

website update. Well things were going too good and we ran into a snag with the software and are working with the software company to get this issue resovled so we are not live with the new site now untill Tuesday.

It's up, maybe a bit buggy with some dead links and little red x's instead of photo's. If you bookmarked straight to the Airsoft you'll need to start again from the main site.

I registered, but never got the confirmation email, so I can't activate or even log into my account. But since my email address was indeed registered, I can't re-register with a different username! GRAAAHH!

Maybe the confirmation email come later on for whatever reason...hopefully.

I liked the old black/green site better. It had more personality. Way too much white space on the new site with tiny pics.

the site works, but our retailers link leads the old page (404 error). Can an Admin fix this soon?

Hopefully in time he will be open to feed back in regards to some changes for the site.

I would say the only thing that the new site has going for it is that it looks more professional.

One feature that I already miss is the "what's New" link.

The new layout has it so you can see the "latest Products" when you've dug down into a particular manufacturer's menu but the old What's New let you know of all the new items added recently regardless of who manufactured it.

You dont have to email for a price guys. Just hold on, Mark just answered my email. He said that basically your account has to get "approved" so that you can view prices and buy stuff. Its to protect himself, and in return the rest of us too.

And im sure mark will still be making changes to the website nothing is set in stone with this.

Before it gets out of hand. No one said anything about Age Verification on ASC being linked to Approval status on AAsurplus.ca.

They are two separate entities with no ties.

I get that, but if Mark decides whether your account gets activated or not, and I haven't received any activation emails for over two hours whereas Goodl2ussian claims to have gotten it in five minutes, I'm just kinda wondering whether Age Verified ASC members get top priority.

Check your spam folder. My activation email was filtered by Gmail as spam.

Ok, if you have to email him to get checked-out to get a price list, it's still a LOT of maintenance and it will still turn off customers.

I'm sure the prices will be there someday. In the meantime they'll be grabbed off a crib sheet or an old backup for the folks that can't wait. The "what's new", and "what others bought" would come along later. The starting up a new website thing is a nightmare, there's always glitches that show up, usually after the guy who set things up has vanished from the face of the earth.

I e-mail them 3 times at 3 different times for quote with there old site and never got a response back ....
I hope this new systems of ddoing business will improve.

If I was him I'd be very careful about who I sold to.. I would want to be as sure as I could be where these things are going.

yes sites coming up but still work to do before its finished.... ONE big thing is if you do not put your birthdate in do not expect to see anything or get e-mail replies from us as we are tired of all the underage people taking up our time .

if your age verified on ASC great that helps but no birth date on the sign up and not going to get anywhere.
