70 rounds doesn't sound like all that much, maybe your hicap was under-performing before and you simply fixed it?

Just a question, by fully winding it, how many of the wheel do you mean, or how many minutes of winding, like 2 turns a second for like 3-5 minutes??

I am looking at the thompson as a purchase in a year or so, so I need all the info I can get.

cheers

are there any indications that it's done winding?? like the sound or the lack of resistance on the wheel??

Zanzibarbarian February 20th, 2006 17:04

My question is: why on earth would you waste an entire hi-cap worth of bbs?

Amgoosen February 20th, 2006 17:07

thats a good question there Zanz

Mulitkikr February 20th, 2006 17:39

More than likely just because he can. Whats that work out to about $2.00 or $3.00 worth of bb's?

Hortons Heros February 20th, 2006 17:50

My tm tommy high caps usually only take two full windings to unload the full 400 bbs. You know it's done winding when the wheel make a different click sound and along with the sound the wheel seems to skip a little. They do take a VERY long time to wind.

Hey Erik, do you think you could post a few pictures of your Thompson, and your accessories(sp?) for it, like sling, mags, etc. ?????

Couldn't you just like put the winding wheel up against a small RC car's wheel, and go forward on the throttle??

Cheers :kill:

lol i don't think anyone want to carry an rc car around on the field with them just to wind their highcaps! also, my sg552 hicap can be emptied in one wind, although it's only 220bbs.

I don't mean on the field, but just like buy a $5 electric motor from a hobby store, some wires, and an RC wheel, and take that in ur gear bag. Also, what do you mean by "One Wind empties my whole 220rnd mag", how many turns, winds etc. do you mean, like just one spin of the wheel, or one session of winding for a minute or two before a game.

Cheers :kill:

You know, I've thought about doing that with one of those little hand fans.

for wingind, i once saw a little machine.. its kinda bulky, but seems like it could fit in an m60 or equivalent ammo pouch. its battery operated and winds automatically for you...
