Best looking gun with osprey suppressor (pistol or rifle)
1 Attachment(s)
Ever since I saw the osprey I was fascinated with the look. In your opinion, what is the best gun you have seen with an osprey attached. Upload a pic or send a link. Can be pistol/rifle/SMG etc. The vector with osprey is great from what I have seen and also the attached pic not sure what pistol

M14 scout and vector
Scorpion evo too i think |
Does the airsoft Osprey state which caliber it was "meant" for. Inisially they only offered the .45, but now I see there's a number of calibers available.
It would bug me if I plunked a .45 Osprey on any other caliber other than .45 |

As long it isnt on a rifle its okay. Real 45 cans get used with smaller calibers in real life, and it works great. There's sound comparison videos on YT if you wanna check it out. |

If anyone asks, my M14 is a .45-70

I'm thinking of the FNX 45, probably with the red dot sight on.

FNX 45 w/ suppressor

So this is not a recommended option. |
Do these suppressors really work on airsoft guns? Or are they just for show to make the gun look cool?

There is a noticeable pop of air at the muzzle from all airsoft guns If the suppressor is fill with foam and the inner barrel ends before the tip of the can where the bb will pass through the gap in the foam, the pop will be suppressed. It's the same idea in which those loudeners work, but opposite to in effect. The problem with airsoft guns is that some of them are so badly built or shimmed that you can hear the gearbox and can react to that vs the muzzle pop. Well built guns have less gearbox noise and can be a bit more stealthy, so adding the suppressor can provide some advantage. Properly matched air ratios from cylinder to inner barrel also reduce barrel pop. The more overvolumed the setup is, the louder the pop. If the suppressor has no foam, the opposite effect will be achieved and the sound amplified. If the inner barrel extends all the way to the exit hole of the can, you get the regular barrel pop. |
You have to build the gun with use of a suppressor in mind.
You can add a suppressor to any gun and reduce the noise heard downrange by some amount, but in order to make them fully effective, the gun has to be built with it in mind. My M14, for example, has 0 noise downrange from 20ft away. The only thing you can hear is the mechbox noise bouncing off trees and buildings. |
Good to know about FNX 45, seems to be the goto osprey pistol
|
Definitely Kriss Vector

Have any suppressors been made for the P08 Lugers, or Broomhandle Mausers? Next question what has to be done to the gun/or guns to attach the suppressors? Just curious is all.

That suppressor in particular is very heavy. I've tried it on my fnx45, and while it looks absolutely bad ass, it's not something I'd run around with. There's enough heft when you have the mag loaded in place to keep the pistol still balanced, but it's a lot of stress on the outer barrel...which btw on the cybergun is already threaded and ready for the osprey. I did not try to fire the pistol when I tried the mounting. So I can't speak on how solid it would feel or how much it would affect the noise during slide movement.

A point of interest regarding silencers on real guns in movies. I laugh every time I see a silencer on a revolver, even if you did put one on a revolver you are still going to get a loud bang when the revolver is fired because of the gap between the barrel and cylinder. But silencers do work in reducing the sound of the shot when attached to pistols and some smg's but they don't completely reduce the bang to just a thud you hear in movies.
