Heer Sturmgrenadier (Stg44), late '44

Pics from a WW2 game at the Hill in Dundee a couple of weeks back, trying out my new Stg44. Going for a late '44 look.

Was pleased to find that I wasn't the only German for a change!

Cheers for the feedback guys, I have to admit I prefer the Heer basic look, everyone tends to runs about in Oakleaf when it comes to WW2 airsoft (not that it doesn't look cool mind!)

what brand?

looks like a shoei one by the blued finish.

beastor June 10th, 2011 11:53

Just the cheapie ACM one with a gun metal grey paint dry brush finish with a polyeuythane varnish coat, with the stock sanded and re-varnished a deep mahogany!

Impressive work, it looks almost as it was blued. The stock is superb.

beastor June 10th, 2011 20:40

Cheers, obviously not as good as bluing proper, but it stands up to close inspection (and is considerably easier to do!)

Heer impression out for a spin on Sunday.

My kit is well manky now after 4 years of ownership: Dusty, worn and lived in. No more just-off-the-peg-look left!

Midcap conversion my friend!

I have done it with great success.
Just getting the hicaps to convert, is the tricky part.

Dang! I didn't even think about that Krieg! Would the piping be on the collars of the M43 field tunic as well?
