King Arms has some very nice models and well as CA. But if I may suggest, why not build your own.

Spike November 28th, 2010 16:42

PTWs are the best :D

If you want just a regular AEG, my vote goes with Classic Army or King Arms

Steer clear of TM, as they make great other guns, but armalites are not their strong poing.

Flash_Point November 28th, 2010 16:58

jesus my grammar and spelling get bad when i type to fast. im liking your thinking eyemore, but im not just ready t do that yet. soon though, i have a few ideas floating around that id like to work on.. how are the internals on the ca???

Spike November 28th, 2010 17:01

They have notorious piston problems, so that should be replaced, but we've had guys around here running stock CA's for a long time without issues.

I thought the CA piston issue was resolved a long time ago.

Take a look into the GBBRs as well. You may not find an exact M16, but an M4 can be easily modified! :D

Gunny_McSmith November 28th, 2010 17:05

G&P makes nice armalites too... :P

Kos-Mos November 28th, 2010 17:06

Why can't you have one custom built for you?

King Arms makes some really good quality external parts.
I was not impressed with their internals quality though.

Best thing to do is to build a rifle using King Arms body and external parts, with a KingArms mechbox shell and full Prometheus internal. Don't mix and match brands and use only KingArms parts on KingArms receivers... I had a hard time fitting a Madbull front end on a KA body.

It will be pricey, probably in the 1xxx range, but well worth it.

I had a lot of problems with all the CA rifles I had. I don't understand why people keep pushing them as "the best out there". Most China made rifles are now on par or better than CA ones. They are decent, but defenitely not the best out there.

lol cobra jr thats what i currently own. im about to get a new kjw m4 as well in the next 2 weeks. i just kinda want an aeg. i dont know why but i get nervous skrimming with my gbbs although ive never had a problem. ithink im just looking for a nice backup gun but the thing is that i want quality! i know about the china guns compared to say taiwan but i also have seen first hand that they it up alot when it comes to the quality. hmmm decisons decisions. (on another point about the gbb ive been eyeing the wetti m16 gbb, anyone happen to have one???)

Flash_Point November 28th, 2010 21:03

what about ptw's. anyone making m16s that are ptw level. hows echo1?? or g&g???

HKGhost November 28th, 2010 21:39

G&P FTW! Great exterior and good internals. Lots of after market G&P parts to upgrade with.

Specs November 28th, 2010 21:48

My CA M15A4 SPR (full metal) just has an upgraded spring and piston...I have had NO problems, It has a crazy ROF and shoots consistently hard and accurate. The spring has settled to about 380 FPS now. The thing never jams.

I have put about 8000 rounds through it without a complaint from the rifle. CAs are great, decent price. After upgrading it and everything it has cost me 750. Why buy a Systema when you can get really good quality at a price like that? That being said, I do want a Systema... but I dont think I will ever get one

ThunderCactus November 28th, 2010 21:50

PTW > G&P > ... > CA/KA > everything else

Flash_Point November 28th, 2010 22:13

mmmmmmmmmmmmm g&p very sexy:D
ca lookin nice to i like it. i can always upgrade it. but damn g&p lookin like the way i want to go!

Flash_Point November 28th, 2010 22:35

That is God's way of telling you to get a CA :D

Jokes, wait for what you want to show up somewhere. Dont make the mistake of settling for something you think you may not like.

Kos-Mos November 28th, 2010 23:15

The only issue with G&P is that you can only fit G&P stuff properly. They make their own mechbox/receiver setup and use a different thread for the front end. That will limit your choices of modification to G&P stuff exclusively, unless you modify your threads with the right adapter (PITA and you don't have a second chance if you screw-up).

Thus the reason why I prefer KA for externals. TM compatible. Sometimes there are fitments issues with cheap china stuff (tolerences are not always good), but if you stick to KA or good quality parts, there should be little to no fitting needed.

tygr701 November 28th, 2010 23:36

I like my full metal CA m15a4 tactical carbine. Have heard nothing wrong with it except the hop up bucking may need replacing. Outside that it hasn't given me any problem as of yet. Full armalite trades, great looks, functionality, performance.

Spike November 28th, 2010 23:40

I had a CA body and a KA body in front of me a few days ago, I have to say the CA felt much more solid. However, the KA is what I have on my gun now.

As for the front end, I have a G&P barrel/barrel nut on my King Arms body. You are correct about the G&P box though, the gearbox I had jammed like a bitch with that body, regardless of hop up or mag type.

You probably got one of the few G&P barrel nuts that where made for TM (as an aftermarket part) VS for their own bodies/guns.

the WE M16 is great. dead accurate, fun to fire, and feels like the real thing. but as with all gas guns though, not as reliable as a aeg.

Flash_Point November 29th, 2010 08:28

lol specs i might just do that you know:P so it seems that its between ca and g&p for me now. the reason i wont build one yet is that i dont have the time to diddle daddle into such projects with work right now.
