Question regarding legallity of a certain airgun
Im new here and felt this was the most appropriate forum.
idk if its necessarily acceptable that i ask about air pistols that shoot metal BBs and technically are NOT airsoft.. (see below) *********EDIT: I DO NOT INTEND TO USE PELLET GUNS FOR THE SPORT OF AIRSOFT******* But anyway, Enough of that.. I was wondering (legally) about getting the Umarex SA177.. I already like the thing but legallity is the deciding factor. Its listed to fire at 380 FPS, and fires metal BBs (steel) its .177 caliber (Not 6mm, its roughly 4.5mm) anyway I just figured this forum would be somewhere i can ask educated people. Im not age verified because i dont plan on buying off the site.... FYI i just broke my crosman stinger p9 airsoft pistol. anywhere i can get a new spring for that? I live in toronto, and im aware that outside use is probably prohibited by a bylaw but i just want to shoot paper targets inside. I play paintball more than airsoft but, this is a cleaner indoor option. Thanks for the responses (in advance) |

Airsoft = Plastic BBs. Pellet gun = Metal BBs. |
Okay. dont get butthurt. I was just asking. Any idea where to go then?
Also off topic but how do you get "out" in airsoft? j/w |
How do you get "out" in airsoft? Like while playing a game? Well see theres things called BB's. And when you get shot. Your "out". Pretty educated thinking isn't it :).
|
Ok dont cry.. but as i know it, bbs do not leave visual markings, so newbz and losers could claim they wernt hit. Just wondering.

Yes Airsoft is a sophisticated game than it's counter-part Paintball. We rely on an HONOUR system. Something kids that play Paintball might not know much about. If someone didn't call their hit. You hit them again, and again, and again, until they do. And you aim for more painful parts of their body. It's actually quite fun. |
Lol.
Guess you've never been shot by a real airsoft gun. Try again. |
Mods wanna lock this thread up?

Airgunforum.ca might be a better place if you're looking for more expert information however I am somewhat versed in .177 and 4.5mm airguns and pellet guns.
Anyways.... CT and Walmart are kind of crappy places to get *nice* pellet guns. Sure they sell the run of the mill cheap ass pellet guns (they're not bad for the price per se but don't expect the same performance of a Supra out of a Civic is basically what I'm saying) for whatever but if you want a nice one like Anschutz, Benelli, Beeman and the like you'll have to go to speciality stores for that kind of stuff. So if you're looking for something to have fun with then the Daisy (Avanti or Powerline) is probably what you will find that fits your needs. Airgundepot or Pyramidair are probably pretty good choices and they are allowed to cross the border but beware since most AIRSOFT CANNOT CROSS THE BORDER because they are not classed in the same category as airguns (.177 and such that shoot 495 FPS for non PAL holders). If you want to purchase in Canada however I believe Airgunsource is a pretty reputable retailer. NOTE: That CERTAIN AIR RIFLES YOU WILL NEED A VALID PAL LICENSE. This is because they are considered firearms (the ones that shoot above 500 FPS). So most of the "Air Force" line will be out of your reach however Daisy Avanti and Powerline are perfect for that since they fall into the realm where general public can purchase. EDIT: Also if people don't call their hits they'll find that they get invited to less and less games so call your hits (and if in doubt just call yourself out anyways). Basically be fair and honourable, if you are sure it didn't hit you then continue playing but if in doubt just call yourself out. |
Okay. Anyway all i had was a simple question and i got a sarcastic answer. and yes in EVERY game there is an honor system. and yes i have been shot and they do hurt i was merely asking to see if there was something more to it or something. I dont see why its a big deal. And L473ncy thanks for the info.

Lol he asks how do you get out in airsoft then when we give him the answer he replies back saying he knows already lol. Dude just log out and never log back on if your going to come here with that under-aged attitude. Seriously.

Understandable. Its no problem, i just thought this would be a good source of info, even if that info was a link to another, more appropriate site. Thanks again. Also to the other coment, i just thought maybe airsoft was like no outs but just a fun shooting players game. Sorry.

At this point in time I would like to request that everyone kindly exit the thread.
To the majority of members that felt the need to post in this thread but didnt actually contribute anything of use, I just wanted to say that you are all morons and stay the fuck out of the newbie tank if you are planning on posting useless comments. The next time you feel like saying something useless, do me a favor and pick up your keyboard and bash yourself in the face with it. a2thebeaast As stated in another post your best bet would be to head over to http://www.airgunforum.ca/forums/ as they would be able to supply you with all the information that you will require. |
