I've called the department and got the answering machine both times. He called back telling me that he was leaving at 1415 and wasn't going to be back to work until tuesday. (Interesting hours imo.) I guess I've got to wait till tuesday to try to resolve the issue.

What the hell? So clear/transparent reciever on airsoft guns can make it through customs while they have a gearbox showing right through the body, but not a single gearbox?

I'd assume that we would have to take the gearbox out of the clear gun. Go to US buy a gearbox. Install into the clear gun and bring it back?

Pretty sure, they know that they aren't receivers but that the new guys are just a lil overzealous, like the typical LE rookies are. I once had a CBSA noob call a stick battery a suppressor and I laughed at him when the senior officer corrected him :D , I too have a shipment with a gearbox in it that is stuck there for over a month now, but no seizure notice yet tho

I dont get what's wrong with gearboxes?? are customs assume that we are going to use those parts for airsoft?? cant we just say that the gearbox are for other things, and not airsoft?

Airsoft isn't illegal anyways, so saying, I am not going to use it for airsoft, will do no good.

so, just to clarify, are they just targeting gearboxes or the vendors?

you've got to be pretty dumb to try and lie to the CBSA.

They are targeting crime in a very odd way. I don't see the vendors losing anything. Sure in the long run we'll stop ordering but these parts are not illegal. (yet)

You know you could always say it's a gearbox for your crosman Airsoft gun from CT or something.

There's no reason to lie, people need to stop panicking over this. Give it time to get cleared up. Mechboxes have been detained in the past, only to be released later.
