our first game this season was on the May 18th with a turn out of nine people. Not bad our first game and a late start to the season due to weather and mothers day.

My plate carrier would look better there, but I'll post pictures of my entire kit when it's fully complete on the second line thread in a couple weeks when it is finished off. I just wanted to highlight the camera set up I am using to keep people who enjoy our thread informed. Don't try to seem negative on the forum philkin, or it will discourage people from posting in it.
Well will start to post regular videos of our games and pictures weekly. A lot of our pictures only got posted on Facebook in the past. Me, yellowman & tactical beard will try to keep on top of the back log of photographs and videos to keep people who enjoy seeing the pictures and videos of us playing in our environment happy and not left out of what we get to see every weekend. Please feel free to ask questions about the north or the airsoft gear we use in our photographs or videos. |

here are photos from our june 1st game. 13 people showed up, so finally getting good turn outs again. only sadly got photos of two people, but we had two go pro hero 3+'s and two tacyon HD's. Also had two knife kills, one was a bayonet kill done by philkensebben which was captured on film.

A lot of footage from two go pros and two tacyons to go threw and attemped to edit. mysticalhobo got some photos of philkensebben with his galaxy S5. phikkensebben try'd to get photos of me using my go pro hero 3+. we had not used it to take photos before so they turned out not as good as the ones taken by mysticalhobo's S5.

Sadly it's an old mine shaft a frame. We usually try to avoid showing it in pictures. We also avoid playing around it and every spring we are surprised when it is still standing. everything has been sealed so you cannot get inside the mine.
I have never tried though, teenagers and dumb tourists do climb to the top but the structure is questionable at best. If it falls during a game it will be our own real life levelution but when you walk by it you can hear the metal siding hanging off of it swaying in the wind. So I wouldn't personally try repelling off of it. There is some graffiti on the top of it that someone would have had to have had some balls to put there, or a set of climbing gear. |

We will defiantly post pictures when it falls, if the gnwt doesn't finally tear it down first. Our little Namm got his new glock 17 in, looked mighty nice this sunday. Nice pistols seem to be just multiplying here in the north ;)
We will have to have a shotgun pistol & knife only game this sunday and post the pictures. We finally have someone to edit the footage we have taken so far. So we will soon post a couple videos of the highlights from this season up here so far. We have had some great and creative new game types to change things up for us, as well as some very funny knife kills and falls caught on camera. |

June 15th game had only six person turn out sadly due to fathers day. We managed to capture a lot of footage and even more photos. So I am going to change up how I am posting every week. I will try to provide more information about the pictures and game types we played that day.
We have been playing the same game type called "Soup Nazi" to start off every day this season. It is a game that closely resembles a game of tag most of use played at school in gym class together. the rules are very simple once learned, and is a easy way to welcome new players we bring out to the sport. Well have also found that experience players here find it fun to play due to the randomness of each game of it played by them. Every player starts off disbursed across the field out of sign of each player. This is because each player starts off the game as a "free agent" who once the game starts most shoot and tag in opposing players, or tag in any kneeling downed player into a team created and designated by a unique call sign (friendly fire counts). Once a hit player is tagged back into the game and given a call sign they most then shoot & tag in hit or kneeling players onto that team until they either consume every player onto it, or are absorbed by another team and given a new call sign. If a hit player takes a knee and is not tagged into a team, or by their old team within 60 seconds of being hit they rejoin the game as a "free agent" able to shoot & tag players onto a new team designated by a new call sign. If a player had already created a call sign and his teammates do not tag them back onto that team before they renter the game as a "free agent" then that player cannot re use a call sign already in use by his previous team. he can only rejoin the his previous team by being tagged back into the game by a member of that team, or shooting and tagging every member of it into a new team under a completely different call sign. we found this game works well with a minimum of four players, larger groups of players may longer to finish a game. Small groups usually finish a game within 10 to 20 min depending on how caught's the players are. larger groups in our experience can take from 15 min to an hour to finish a game. A caught's or forgotten player can find themselves eating away at a hunting group and can soon re start the game entirely. Our first Soup Nazi game was won in under 15 min by a team started by a newish player called duality. Team name "Indecisive" The second game was won by a team stared by myself in under 20 min. Team name "handjob" which was awesome to hear grown men saying to each other. well taking in downed people and avoiding friendly fire. The last Soup Nazi game was won by a team started by Philkkensebben in just over 30 mins, by the last game people played more caught's and turned into a fire fight between two teams of three around a single building. Our third game is a new type that borrows rules from a number of games we have try'd out over the last four years, we called this configuration of it "Kill Team" working title. photographed by Soupreme and his canon rebel T3. filmed by myself and duality on our go pro hero 3+ and mystical hobo using my tacyon HD. A fire team made up of myself and Mysticalhobo had to eliminate a balloon at four different bases to win the game. June 22nd game operation Drum Dance will go down as a day of fails, but a testament to commitment to play. Only a turn out of four people, Myself, Yellowman, Philkkensebben and Mysticalhobo braved the bad weather and smoke filled air from near by forest fires to go out. It rained the morning before we went out in town and not a drop on the field until the second we dropped off our gear to start to play. luckly Philkkensebben had two tarps in his truck for a just in case situation after learning from our previous seasons.
So only three games of Soup Nazi went down after we sat out the rain in our gear for 30 or so min. June 29th Operation Phree Bawllin was a much better day to play then the previous weekend. Sunny with little smoke from forest fires and a turn out of seven people. G'fry showed up for his first time this season, his kwa m4 and full marpat bdu is just as scary and accurate as we remembered. We had also learned out lesson on settings on our cameras and go pros so we got a lot of use able footage and a lot of pictures. sadly we did not get photos of Duality, Soupreme and G'fry.
We will try our best to get photos of everyone who attends the games. Its hard for myself, Yellowman and Philkkensebben to put together the games, camera equipment and helping new players with their airsoft guns and gear. So we will be trying to put more effort into getting great pictures of everyone that comes out for the people who enjoy seeing what Greatwhitenorth has to offer. July 6th operation Booni freedom had a turn out of 6 people. Myself, Yellowman, Philkensebben, Soupreme, Mysticalhobo and Windows. As we arrived to the field we could hear thunder in the distance and a very dark rough looking cloud looming over top of us, and as we got most of our gear on and Windows arrived it started to rain lightly. After 3 mins of arguing who got the tarp from philkensebben's truck last time and who was going to get it this time it started to rain heavily. Jokes where made about forrest gump and rain big rain drops then Philkensebben ran to his truck as hail a bit smaller then a pee started to fall down with huge raindrops. We constucked a better make shift shelter then previous weeks and waited out the rain.

These games went fast and still require some changing and balancing. The last game we played was a retrieval game well two defenders try'd defend it against four attackers. Operation Mixed Smoke Signals
July 13th day had a turn out of eight people. Only seven people played at our second field, Myself, Philkensebben, Myseticalhobo, Yellowman, Tankbot, Windows and my step dads 15 year old nephew Little Warrior who came up from Ontario for a month to play. My step dads 74 year old father also came out to take pictures and film. It was a sunny day with a lot of smoke from the around 170+ forest fires burning around the NWT. looks like Beijing air quality here right now.

Operation smokie the bearsoft
July 20th game was not as smokie as previous weeks but still over 170+ forest fires still burning including some on the road above where we play and some cutting off the only road out of Yellowkinfe. Due to a music festival happening this weekend a number of players could not make it out. As well as Yellowman having been called to work due to employees not showing up for their work shift we did not have his Cannon to take pictures with. The turn out for Sunday's game was only Seven people, Myself, Philkensebben, Mysticalhobbo, Young Warrior, Old Warrior. Including having Marnius come up from edmonton for a month with his friend a new player Tallman375.

Operation Scorcher
July 27th day had a turn out of seven people, Myself, Yellowman, Philkensebben, Mysticalhobo, Marnius, Young Warrior and Windows. We had so much smoke driving out on today's game from the over 200+ forest fires and one not even 30 km out of town that visibility was only 150 feet on the roads at best. It was so smoky that it was hard to breath but luckily once we got out there a breeze started and cleared up most of the smoke on our field. But most of us wanted to see what is was like to play in it. operation ERMAHGERD TEX IZ KERMING
August 3rd game had 9 people show up, But Frozen Tex came out for his first time this season! Myself, Philkensebben, Frozen Tex, Mysticalhobo, Soupreme, Voldara, Marnius, Young Warrior and Yellowman. It is still super smoky due to the 200+ forest fires in the NWT. It did not clear up like the previous week, so you will be able to see the smoke in the pictures we have taken.

Operation Riches Fall
August 10th game had a turn out of seven people Myself, Philkensebben, Frozen Tex, Yellowman, Soupreme, Marniuis and Mysticalhobo. Thanks to a couple days of rain this week all of our smoke issues have resolved themselves. We had a short game due to rain at the end of the day.
I also had a goldy locks shot taken on myself by Soupreme in a cqb pistol fight. I got hit in the bridge of the nose between my desert locusts and mesh which bounced into my goggles and hit the side of my left eye. My eye is okay but a little sore and I have a nice mark on the bridge of my nose. So I sucked it up, tapped the gab up and continued to finish the day. But if anyone runs locust and mesh I would suggest the same. If it was one of the harder aegs or gas it could have caused much more damage. Here is the last thing I saw before feeling the pain of the hit and my eye watering up. Since there was only four of us that took part in Sunday's games the pictures and footage was not great and the fire fights are short. So here are the best pictures I managed to get. We hope next Sunday's game will have a better turn out.

Operation Am I The Only One Smiling
August 24th game had a turn out of seven people, Myself, Philkensebben, Mysticalhobo, Yellowman an old friend that myself and Yellowman went to school with since kindergraden and two of his friends who are new to airsoft. only four of us played the first two games of Soup Nazi and then the last two games. The turn out was better then last week but still not what we want from this point in the season.

so are you based in Yellowknife? I recently moved into the area and used to play Airsoft with a group in Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Airsoft. Considering getting back into it, still have all my gear which I brought up with me including my guns. |
I apologize for links to our photos beings down as of late. Photo bucket has changed some policy's in order to get money from us. The photos that have been posted should come back at the start of September when bandwith resets.
We will find a solution to this problem before Sundays game to continue to provide photos from our games for the future. Operation: First Date
First game of the season kicked off April 12th at Cassidy point. Seven people turned out for this snow game myself Philkensebben, Mysticalhobo, Someyellowman, Windows as well as a returning player from last season and two new players we hope to see more of in coming games. We played four quick games of soup nazi but after the first two games problems with some new and old guns starts to hamper the games, we could not fully rely on our side arms due to the just above zero temp as well as the exhausting time we had breaking trails in the snow.
I did not manage to take down all the winners from the four games we played and the weapons used, I will add those to my future posts on games. I will also be posting edited and full length videos from this season and some older games from last season on a new youtube channel for Great white north in the up coming future once some details are finalized with the group. Here are just some screenshots I took from watching the footage from my Go Pro Hero 3+ that I though you all might enjoy. We usually have a good layer of snow until the last week of april and patch's of it until mid may. it was about knee high or just above that in most places we walked in yesterday. After our second or so game I asked the group how many people had fallen well playing and everyone of us raised our hands. As soon as the first game started I try'd to run and took a nose dive myself which is embarrassing to have on camera, as well as the start of the third game yellowman took a dive after hitting me off the start and throw his we m92 about a foot into the snow well "gracefully" falling onto his back, it makes for a good watch. ill edit a video of all the times I got people falling down when I start up the youtube channel.

I have not posted on the forums for a while. I have been busy taken pictures with my new Nikon D810 camera and shooting at the Yellowknife gun range the last few weeks of my vacation. 2016 May 8th Season Opener Group Photo
A Personal thank you too everyone who showed up to the 2016 May 8th season opener making it the biggest season opening game we've had despite it being mothers day. Also a thank you to all the mothers out there who put up with us playing and having fun on their day.
I notice we are experiencing a huge growth period in our northern airsoft community that started to really take off last season and is continuing into this season, thanks to the help that our president, vice president, treasurer & added new position field manager has brought to making our community & game quality better every season. A personal thanks to everyone who brought food, water, game supplies & provided the labor to make Sundays game possible. I sadly missed last week due to a night of drinking the day before. Even with the forcast of rain today a lot of people showed up and made it the biggest game our community has had. Sadly most of my airsoft rifles are either having problems or the magazines are. So today I used my VFC M40a5 and my girlfriend used my ARES Stoner LMG until its battery died, causing her to state "she was sad she only got to shoot one person, and it wasn't me"
