the nylon fibre will scratch just like some sort of metal, but is in fact still a composite material. unless they have the ones with metal uppers, as far as i know, they're still nylon fibre. that's how good G&G's materials are.

Oh, ok. I was wrong. Its just that the material underneath the paint looks just like metal.

Thanks for clearing that up with me,

Cab

nonetheless it's a sturdy material. It can definitely take the punishment on the field.

The G&G m4 carbine at VA and Buy Airsoft are a Plastica version. I think It still be very sturdy and I do not think the internal is a low material... G&G is goooood!

Cheers,

I had the opportunity to see four versions of the G&G weapons today ( not from buyairsoft ),,and they are freakin' cool. I was expecting to see clear plastic like what's found in your standard clearsoft. It's a smoked plastic complete with trades. the mp5 version has a built in upper rail so that eliminates the need for a claw mount. coooooooool stuff. I will post the pictures in the airsoft media section. oh,,i cant believe the prices on these things.

Easy mistake to make. These guns are only different because of some of the manufacturing processes used. These have all the same internals as the more expensive ones, but things like the outer barrels are made of a slightly less refined metal. Therefore, cheaper.

I own two M4 models, one from CAS and one from Mach1 - Same upper receiver, not a difference at all. Maybe the model I bought from MAch1 was older or newer or something, but in comparison externally and internally, the only difference is the lower receiver, CAS having a smoked one. Now with that said however, when I say internally, I don't mean the gearbox. I haven't cracked either open yet to compare parts but they both consistently chrono out the same with .20G and .28G bbs. Put 1 - 1.5K rounds through both, no issues yet.

If you get the latest G&G AEG clear body, then you get the new improved clear body.
The new low clear body is much whiter than the previous clear body (kinda smoky clear body). The new clear body seems not to have anymore of cracking on the pins area, and it has some minor different that is about it. In my opinion with the improved clear body, I would like to stick with the smokey clear color.

:D

After shooting about 10 000 rounds on my m16a3 i opened the gearbox to see the internals, there where no damge i could see beside minor gear wear on the piston, but negligible.Tons of grease, get some rags before opening.I would sugess to redo the shims, mine had too much slack.Put in a softer spring like a modify s90 and some new grease and you have a rock solid gearbox.A madbull 6.03 tightbore and a guarder clear hopup rubber did wonders for my g&g.Cheers.

OP, you have to read the description on buyairsoft.ca's website. Seriously: they say everything there

The Nylon/Fiber composite the externals are constructed of are of the highest quality you would find on real firearms. Then the upper receiver, we had to check with our supplier to confirm that it was not metal! The upper receiver is constructed of a very hard/ cold to the touch Nylon/Fiber composite also with a very nice rough finish.
the "real" G&G is full metal (although not the highest quality) and sit at around 550-600 for a gun. So for $300, go figure.

All i gotta say is i bought the G&G M16 from buyairsoft.ca and it came in 4 days and the gun is of top notch quality, from like 20 feet is looks all black without even painting it(smoked reciever instead of clear), and the guns internals are amazing, perfect shim job, great metal bushings and a nice piston and spring guide to boot, not to mention the gears look to be high quality too. The gun is AMAZING for the value. Just my 2 cents
