Yeah... all the real-metal purist folks are kind of a headscratcher when the real weapons are fibreglass with plastic coat/mix that well...looks and feels like plastic.

I gamed with both CA and JG G86s, I now have the CA scope/handle on my JG. While there are slight differences (JG knocks more hollow sounding), it feels and looks the same on the exterior.

Arthraxis June 26th, 2008 21:56

Christ... The CA uses a special type of plastic, it's not just normal ABS crap, it's not exactly the same as the real one, but this one has a different feel from the other brands, is the JA made with the same materials? Or is it the generic ABS plastic crap?

JG uses ABS plastic, the CA one uses Nylon. I've compared a JG36C side by side with my Classic Army G36. No comparison. Yes, the JG was solid... but the CA is so much nicer. After owning a CA36, I don't know if I could ever live with an ABS G36.

Look, I've had both and the texture feels like same. You can feel the weight different and CA feels more like fibre. My current gun is a mix of JG and CA parts and it blends together fine. JG is ABS but it's not as cheap as TM G36 feels. The worst part about JG is lack of trades and the seam where the two halves meet is not as neat as CA.

In the end, a CA G36K costs $250 in the US and $700 here. a JG G3K costs $88 in the US and probably $300 here. The biggest stupid thing is the JG G36K has the plastic rail instead of the scope handle. I agree, that is horrible...but if you are lucky enough to NOT be in Canada, $88 for a high quality AEG is good.

It's up to you where you want to spend your money. I opted for JG and spend the money on internals and the exterior I would swap over slowly.

I did roll down a hill with a CA G36K and I would trust that to stay together more than a JG.

MestHead June 26th, 2008 22:58

I thought the JG G36k costs $88 in Asia because the JG g36c cost $150 in the us and its made of less material. I would think the JG G36k would cost around $160-$180.

Please tell me you didn't just use "high quality" to describe a Junk Gong gun

LOL

hey what's wrong with that? I'm sure most people would agree with me when I say JG is probably the only asian knock off brand that's been stepping up in quality and that people on this forum would buy. The JG G-36C review on this forum seems to support it

JGs are very popular in airsoft and there are many users on these forums. It's the only China clone that most people would recommend. Tried JG HK 416, metal and everything, laser engraved and painted trades, 400+ FPS out of the box. Higher quality than most other manufacturers.

I found that the JG M4A1 was great out of the box but they seem to loose their "oompf" after a few thousand rounds but I am sure a simple tune up and re-lubing inside would solve the problem

I agree JG's are good.

But they're not metal.

Muffin June 27th, 2008 06:59

I've only had a few issues with my JG's, but any issue that has arised was miniscule. One thing about JG that I found ammusing is their rail system for thier M16A4. When i got it in I noticed that they took 2 M4 length RIS and bolted them together, of which didn't match up at all.
That aside I have no problem using JG, I got my brother a 416 this last month and it works great.

They're maybe acceptable quality, in that they aren't POS shit, break-after-a-few-hours guns or clearsoft from Walmart, but a passing grade doesn't make one an honor student.

And one of the problems with a lot of reviews (not just JG but a lot of other airsoft stuff, including gear) is that they're written by people who've never owned anything better. Sure, compared to a Well gun the JG is great. So what? Let me talk to someone who's used VFC, G&P, CA, etc and have them tell me it's high quality, then it'll mean something.

There are some excellent Chinese guns out there, some of which only need a bit of tweaking on the internals (for my personal preferences -- and even TM needed some): the Cyma AKS-74U, for example, or the A&K M249 series (they have problems, but they're the same problems as on the original CA ones).

JG on the other hand has yet to put out anything to make me stand up and take notice. Is there anything wrong with them? No. They're probably great entry level guns for people on a budget. But my original quip was about calling them High Quality guns, which is a joke that amounts to calling a Mazda Miata a high end sports car.

pamparius June 28th, 2008 01:50

whats wrong with JG G36 series?? i own G36C and it performs damn well... just change the standard length barrel with madbull tight barrel and voila the gun shoot damn straight and spot on the target even in full auto at 10 meters... okay the external body works are below compared to CA, Star and TM, but who cares anyway, noone not gonna stare them and sexually rubbing them when on the field right?? i believe the JG G36K will be great... for the price tag, this gun is not wrong... but if you got more money to spend on G36 series, picking on the other brand with better quality is more encouraged...

Good lord - where did you find them for $150??

Most of the JG G608's are around $100 USD from my searches.

True statement. I like the feel of the CA over the JG or TM.

Nothing wrong with the JG G608 - sweet starter platform.
