It looks identical to the TM but came in a plain brown box and the product code is Z-HICAPA51 not TM-HICAPA51. Anyone know what this is?

It's another China cone brand. From what I last recall, there no fewer than 5 Chinese clones of either the WE or Marui Hi-Capa.

From the serial, I'd even say it's a Z-Gun (ZHICAPA51? Z-Gun Hi-Capa 5.11?), but most internet searches of the serial turn up nothing.

I mean, just for curiosity. We might find some relative redeeming quality in the pistol.

As for the OP, I'd say go with a WE or TM, just like everyone else. Sub-par kit means Sub-par performance.
