Translation:

Someone said earlier that maybe "Hang" (assumed username) was getting into the business. Man, I sure hope so because "Hang" is awesome.

Hahaha, I'm just pickin' on you jesster :)

At any rate - I simply can't see airsoft going anywhere. I understand where all of the trepidation comes from, however there's such an underground culture that we could probably MAKE our own guns. And until they stop selling Clearsoft at Wal-mart, I don't see anybody coming to take mine away either. (Not clearsoft, but you know how soccer-mom's might try and get that banned too)

jesster202 January 28th, 2008 20:10

lmao every one picks on the jesster and you know what i dont care because i am a jesster

Styrak January 28th, 2008 20:13

The sky fell in 2006. You're just seeing the final effects of it now.

Never in the last 5 years do I remember there being less than 5 legitimate retailers. Now there is 1, and how long can he make a go of it?

For those who think that "Bahh!! It's happened before. No big deal!", that's the worst kind of blind ignorance.

Hope things work out well for Mark.

price hikes .. I know he lost a bunch of items due to customs and that was happening more and more as this past year went on. as a result his brokerage fees have gone up and recovering losses.. I guess that adds up to increase. How much? tough to say.. im sure he is making it while he can and as a business owner he has a right to do that.

we will always complain about this and that while the getting is good. when the getting gets tough we would be glad to have another like him importing our guns.. that is until we get bitchy again and decide to complain about the new guy.
case and point.. Peter Kang. everyone loved Kang..then they got tired of paying him all their life savings and hated him. Kang went away and we cried but not for long because MARK saved the day! we love mark! now wait! he is trying to make money off of us! lets burn his home!!!!! he...is ...leaving??? what?? oooooh this is not good! we loved mark!

what it boils down to is not dis-liking anyone or the business... it boils down to constant piling of government bureaucracy and the red tape slowly choking you out of breath. Time to get out man. let someone else try it on for size. This does go beyond another retailer going down though. it is another IMPORTER. there havent been many importers in CDN history. Kang and Anderson are 2 of FEW. why do you think everyone shut the doors when Kang left? Ken was supplied by Kang..then Mark. Now they are both gone and Ken needs to find another source

Well said!, your statement don't back the retailer and don't back the buyer, fact is with the sport we play sometimes it is a necessary evil to pay so much to get what you want, if your new to the game you always look to a retailer to get you going, after a bit of water has gone under the bridge, you start to get resourceful. We will need a new "supplier" for sure and one will pop up I have no worry about that and, they will charge an arm and a leg for AEGs etc and, most people will buy them, due to the fact there is little choice right now and seemingly for the future!
for me the resourcfulness I use to get what I want is a mission motivated by the over price (in my opinion), I have purchased guns from retailers in the past but very few and far between, there are enough resources out there to satisfy, you just need to look around and be patient. As much as we can blame the CAN goven't for the "retailer" having to over charge, is the same reason some of use choose to be more resourceful"!

EDIT: thanks for the reassurances T7. i really do appreciate it :)

So you're saying that people around 20-30 year olds won't be around for that much longer ? Man you need a serious wake up call, we're not talking about the NHL entry draft here, we're talking about airsoft.

I'm 24 and I know I'll be playing again for a long time and I know people much older than me that will be doing the same.

TrueTGN January 28th, 2008 20:20

Well it may be blind ignorance, but I still stand to what I said. I can't speak for things that have happened in the past because I was not around, but what I can say is that if these become the hardest of times we'll just have to make due with what we already have. If this is the "decline" of airsoft in Canada as some of you may put it then lets make the best of it. Theres still plenty of guns to go around, people will always be wanting to sell of what they have. Could be because they're going to stop playing, need money for something else or just want a change of gun type. We'll be limited to our supply of new guns for sure, but with parts still flowing in we'll always be able to upgrade and repair anything already here.

jesster202 January 28th, 2008 20:21

well were does shootsoft.ca get its jg's form then?

You may very well be right... but I prefer optimism.. You know as well as I that the public retailers are not the only source for guns.

+1. im sure with time they will be getting TM and CAs

EDIT: does anything think Ken will try to obtain his own importers license? or just fade out like A&A?

jesster202 January 28th, 2008 20:27

well i know ever one Loves their tms and stuff but buy a stock Jg if it comes to that and track down a Metal body. upgrade the bussings to metal and its just as reliable as a tm. also upgrade the outter barrell to a one peice not the shitty 2 peice that broke on me.
